Souper Bowl of Caring Many, many thanks to all who contributed cans of soup or money to our Souper Bowl of Caring focus. We raised $93 that was sent to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and collected 45 cans of soup that were delivered to the Grace UMC food pantry. Over 9.9 million dollars was raised by nearly 13,000 groups in 2009. Newburgh Ministry Collection Throughout Lent, we have been collecting items needed by the Newburgh Ministry for their outreach program in the inner city of Newburgh. The folks served by the Ministry are often homeless or in crisis. At the Ministry, they find the comfort of a warm place to congregate and a hot cup of coffee. On Sunday, April 5th, the last Sunday of our collection, please bring any item on the collection list including decaf coffee or tea bags, non-dairy creamer, hot cups, hygiene items, sheets, blankets etc. or make a monetary contribution. Pew envelopes may be used for cash and should be marked Newburgh Ministry. Checks should be made payable to VGUMC, but indicate Newburgh Ministry on the memo line. Thank you for your wonderful response to this appeal.
